Welcome to the Brisbane Twittersphere!

Here we’ve got a collection of questions you may have for the BTUB crew. There will be more information on this page as we get the site out of beta.

So, I have this really cool idea for an event…

Do it! If you want some help, give us a direct message or @reply on Twitter and we’ll lend a hand if we can. Just a few hints:

  1. Make sure you use the #BTUB hashtag in your tweets so the Twitter community can see your stuff.
  2. Try scoping out interest with a Twtpoll. They’re pretty useful like that.
  3. Twtvite is cool, but we haven’t used it yet. Facebook events, a Google calendar and general tweeting seem to do the trick enough as it is.

What’s with the hashtags? What do I use?

#BTUB will work fine for general conversation about the community and our monthly pub meets. There are a selection of other hashtags for regular events like #steakTUB (Sunday sessions with @thefoxhotel) and #miniBTUB (events with under 20 people). See what we’re talking about at the Twitter Fan Wiki.

I took photos! They’re really cool and I’d love to share them. How?

The lovely @definatalie made up a Flickr pool for us. You can stick them up over there for all to see.

How do I create a Facebook event for a BTUB gig?

To connect a FB event with the BTUB group there, you can either

  • let someone on the Facebook group administration put your event up from scratch (make sure you give them all the details first), or
  • create a Facebook event yourself, then make someone from the BTUB FB group administration an administrator on your event so that they may make BTUB the event host.

I wrote something about how great BTUB is.

Your fellow members would love to hear it! If it’s on your own website or blog, just link us up on this website or tweet it with the hashtag “#BTUB.” If you don’t have a blog but would still like to write an article on your experiences, contact @BTUB and we can post it for you here.

Can I use the BTUB logo?

This one? Most definitely; free for all. We’d love you to!

My company could sponsor BTUB. May we?

While we don’t want to appear as selling our friends, we’re always down for minor deals like freebies at our events in return for a favourable consumer base. Send the Twitter account a tweet or DM and one of the @BTUB admins will contact you for a chat.
